We all have one or a dozen of denims in our closets. But, did we know that a pair of jeans has a lake-size water footprint? Probably not.
From irrigating the cotton crop in rural India to stitching to laundering multiple times at home, a typical pair of blue jeans takes up 919 gallons of water during its life cycle. That’s enough to fill about 15 spa-size bathtubs.
A new Levi’s campaign titled, “Dirty Is The New Clean,” aims to alert wearers to this colossal waste and Levi’s, on its part, is doing all it can to bring that number down.
